Are you a cat parent familiar with the "universal cat grab?"

If not, then you just haven't eaten around your cat yet, have you? If you are a cat parent who has eaten around your feline fur babies, then you are very familiar with the "universal cat grab." That is when you need to hold your cat back from eating your food, but since they just dive right in, headfirst, the outcome is usually one hand moving the food away, and the other holding the cat's head back as they try to squeeze out of your grasp. It is hilarious, or as I like to say, hissterical.

It turns out I'm not the only cat person who finds these photos of cats' heads trapped in the grasp of their owner as they try to eat their food. A cat parent who goes by @ttv.catsngats on TikTok recently posted a video of their cat trying to muscle their way out of their parent's grasp to get their meal, and instead created a relatable and LOLable clip. Cat parents from all over the web came to the comment section to share their own pictures of their cat baby doing the exact same thing. One of the funniest aspects about these situations is that most of the time, the cat doesn't even actually want to eat your food. The curiosity is truly just getting the best of your cat. They want to sniff, maybe even take a bite of that food, not because they want to eat it, but because they are the ones in charge around here and should know everything that is going on! Especially what their hooman is about to eat without them.

Very few felines actually make it past the universal cat grab. Their heads are just so tiny, the more they attempt to push through, the more their little eyes start to bug out, and their tongue reaches for the food, and LOL, it's just so funny and cute. The only time a cat gets past this technique is when it is just too funny, that the human loses grip and gives up to the belly laughs their feline friend is causing them. It's honestly a beautiful moment. It just makes me love cats even more! Go ahead, try to steal my food! It's a win-win situation for everybody. Well, maybe not so much the cat if they aren't successful in their task, but at least we still get a good LOL out of it.

Sometimes it's not the head within the grasp of the universal cat grab. Sometimes it is their paw or entire body. Usually, if a cat goes in for the touch with their paw, they aren't as dedicated to the outcome. They're just pushing your buttons, and it's honestly still adorable. If they put their entire body into it, however, they are in it to win it! This is usually when you get the good LOL, because you can't even fathom their urge right now. Again, it all spawns from their strong curiosity, but my goodness, is it funny.
